What is a Community Nurse Prescriber (CNP)?

Community Nurse Prescribers (CNP) are registered nurses who have completed additional training and are authorised to prescribe a limited range of medicines within specific community health settings and programmes. They provide care within a defined scope of practice and work closely with our medical team.
CNP are not Designated Nurse Prescribers or Nurse Practitioners. These nursing roles require advanced prescribing qualifications and experience and are able to prescribe a much wider range of treatments.
